Highly recommend. We use Epson WorkForce 840 wirelessly, and didn’t need all the features the startup disk offered for the PC anyhow. I control Epson WorkForce 840 just the same.

I took some time deciding on a printer, and had looked at the HP 8500 series first for a long time. Then I heard an Epson commercial on the radio for the 840. Totally worth it. Although Epson online had a deal for $179, it ran out when I decided. Amazon still had it listed for $179 though. The HP felt cheap, and although the Epson isn’t like the solid feel of printers from 15 years ago, it felt better constructed. The startup disk wouldn’t work properly with my Win7 laptop, but the Mac was without a glitch. I’ve used it for a month now, and never disappointed.

The option of choosing the quality of your printing is ideal, especially since you don’t always need high resolution for everyday printing. Epson WorkForce 840 is very quick, and when I use the added Text/Pic features or just straight image quality, it’s not disappointing.

Epson WorkForce 840 is a very nice multi-function printer for the price. Highly recommended.

If you want a printer that could do it all, this is it. Print, scan, copy and fax, all functionalities in a good size package and very efficient.

Installation is very friendly, but you need a bit of network knowledge if you want to install it wirelessly. No more difficult than connecting your laptop or iPod to the network. The printer detects all the available network and give you a list. Pick the right one, enter the network password and that’s it. Then you need to install the driver to each computer with the supplied CD. Drivers came in both flavors, Window and Mac OS. The whole installation took me 15 minutes, including unpacking.

Epson WorkForce 840 looks like an workgroup or office printer and performs like one. Actually, Epson WorkForce 840 works better than the printer where I work. The amber screen is nice, but could sub for a nightlight if you have this printer in your bedroom.

Print is relatively fast compare to my other printer. I have not tried double sided printing, but don’t expect issues either.
